Buried bottle

Has anyone ever found the bottle that Capt. Cook buried? FatBear1 (talk) 15:58, 20 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

No, probably because it was never buried. According to the most recent biography of Cook, by Hampton Sides (2024), the bottle was not buried but left at the base of a prominent lone tree. Which makes sense when you consider the intent would be for someone to find the bottle (thus the included note). Most likely picked up by Indians soon after. -- GreenC 00:35, 29 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
