I did it - I stumbled into a blind link. Yay!
The link did exist in the Dutch wiki so I decided to do a quick translation. There are however a few things that should be noted, things that might encourage future contributers (or myself, for that matter).
- In eliminating a blind link I created lots of new ones. That's the way Wikipedia grows I suppose.
- I've translated the titles to the best of my ability, yet they need checking by a die hard Acda en de Munnik fan.
- This article may not yield the English speaking reader a lot of answers. The Dutch have all heard Het regent zonnestralen on the radio, but to the English speaking reader this is unknown territory. This may also be a subtle weakness in the original article. If you feel like contributing, maybe you (or I) could answer the following questions:
- Why are my Dutch friends listening to this?
- Why should we care about Acda en de Munnik?
- What was their role in (Dutch) musical history?
- Are they mainstream or off-beat?
- What is their musical heritage?
- Why are the texts so important?
- Where can I find translations of the lyrics? (So I know what I'm listening to.)

Pronunciation
[edit]"au" in Paul is pronounced as a diphtong ([aʊ] I think).
- Yes, it is. Does anyone know how to do diphtongs in IPA? Shinobu 05:49, 3 January 2006 (UTC)
Also, Acda is pronounced agda (Sorry no phonetic fonts on this pc) so could someone with a phonetic font correct it? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 145.99.173.197 (talk) 13:24, 9 October 2009 (UTC)

Niet of nooit geweest
[edit]Ik ben mezelf niet
Of al die jaren nooit geweest
Would be in English:
I'm not myself
Or {haven't been|never was} for all those years
The current translation features both possible interpretations from the second verse, while dropping the first. Chances are my English is somewhat broken (after all it's not my native language) so the first verse could perhaps be more elegently translated in a different way, but the current translation just drops it and that, I think, is wrong.
