Given that this is an American bird, I tried to use American usage English. Feel free to correct whatever spellings I missed. Oh, and how does the image thing work in the taxoboxes? sunbird 05:56, 1 Dec 2004 (UTC)

the bits before and after the {{}} hide the intermediate bits - useful for editor comments that don't show on the displayed page, or to hide this line until there is an image available. jimfbleak 07:22, 1 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Conservation status and population size

[edit]

The article contains this sentence: "Although the species is not considered threatened, its global population size is estimated between 8,900–11,000 individuals." I feel like this is missing some information. What is the significance of the population size? Is this an unusually large or small population? Is the number related to the non-threatened status of the species? Why was the word "although" used? The rest of the paragraph is also a little unclear to me, as someone generally unfamiliar with the subject. What does it mean for the species to be of "high conservation concern"? Does the species play some important role that makes its conservation particularly important? Contextual information like this would greatly clarify that portion of the article. 76.199.198.138 (talk) 03:49, 24 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
