I enjoy doing a number of things around the wiki. In January 2010 I became a Coordinator of the (now-defunct) Mediation Cabal, and in March 2010 I became an Administrator on the English Wikipedia. Currently most of my work on-wiki is in dispute resolution and enforcement, particularly in contentious areas and topics under Arbcom sanctions. I'm also trying to contribute to the cleanup and improvement of articles within my area of expertise, American politics. I am also well-known as a BLP hardliner, who believes that protecting living persons from unsourced and poorly sourced contentious material trumps all other policies and guidelines. I continue to uphold the spirit of the Mediation Cabal, even though it has long since been retired. I can often be found roaming around various topic areas and attempting to resolve disputes.
I have also been called a BLP Hardliner. Given my role in the 2010 Mass BLP Deletions and the creation of WP:BLPPROD, that's accurate. My position has not changed in recent years, I openly accept and embrace the label. BLP is our most important policy, and needs to be protected above all else.
We've awarded you this PARC research star in recognition for your contribution to research about conflict in Wikipedia. Thank you for your help!!! --Parc wiki researcher 21:09, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
The Random Acts of Kindness Barnstar
A copy of my first barnstar, and certainly you deserve it more than I did. Prodegotalk 04:24, 31 December 2009 (UTC)
For acting as a role model for other administrators by making important Wikipedia policies such as WP:BLP a priority on Fred Singer. FormerIPOnlyEditor (talk) 06:37, 21 May 2010 (UTC)
The Admin's Barnstar
For the apparently thankless task of drafting a suggested closing summary at the RfC/U. Tryptofish (talk) 20:48, 14 June 2010 (UTC)
After watching you navigate the recent discussion at AE, build a consensus among editors that at first appeared diametrically opposed to one another, and civilly close a contentious discussion I am thoroughly impressed and grateful for your time, skill, and dedication. It is my distinct pleasure to present you a well earned Barnstar of Diplomacy. Thank you for all you do, Mifter (talk) 03:38, 13 March 2017 (UTC)
For taking on closing the long, convoluted and highly testy ANI discussion regarding EllenCT. You earned this! RickinBaltimore (talk) 15:42, 23 June 2016 (UTC)
The Admin's Barnstar
Thank you for leading the novel GMO RfC process from conception to completion. I believe that it will provide an important resolution to a previously intractable dispute. (And if anyone thinks that you showed me any special favoritism, our discussion yesterday proves that it is not so!) --Tryptofish (talk) 21:54, 7 July 2016 (UTC)
The Admin's Barnstar
For coming to a decision and helping with the ANI thread, and dealing with socks. ThePlatypusofDoom(talk) 14:17, 11 July 2016 (UTC)
A bathrobe for you!
I saw the top of this page and how could I not do this? QueenofHearts 19:43, 13 January 2024 (UTC)

Appreciate your remaining even-keeled in resolving the NFL draft dispute. —Bagumba (talk) 07:18, 27 February 2024 (UTC)
Thank you for your significant effort in reviewing part of the long, long, ADL RFC and its close review. starship.paint (RUN) 06:10, 20 June 2024 (UTC)

For an adroit close on a complex RfC Chetsford (talk) 06:03, 21 June 2024 (UTC)
The Closer's Barnstar
For your diplomacy and effort in taking the lead to close the ADL RfC, as well as collaboration with others to achieve this. CNC (talk) 14:28, 21 June 2024 (UTC)
A rouge TARDIS (or the closest thing I could find on Commons), for having made a closure so Rouge that its effects travelled through time and were being challenged before you even issued it. . . . But to be serious, I appreciate that you undertook to close, and closed so thoughtfully, such a large and complex discussion even as it was getting international attention and pushback. Someone had to do it; the discussion was open for so long as to suggest no-one wanted to do it; I appreciate you doing it. -sche (talk) 16:08, 21 June 2024 (UTC)
The Admin's Barnstar
I stated in the discussion below the vote that I felt quite bad for whichever poor admin got tasked with closing the ADL RfC - props for being one of the ones to do so! TheKip(contribs) 21:38, 22 June 2024 (UTC)
