A question of dates
[edit]I'm removing the precise dates left by an anon editor (1135 - 1201 for Leonin, and 1160 - 1205 for Perotin). The only sources on these two composers are the later writings by Anonymous IV and Johannes de Garlandia, and neither gives biographical details on either man; even their actual names are not known. There have been numerous conjectures on the dating of their works but evidence is scanty. Please present your sources if you believe I am wrong; perhaps there is something very recent I haven't seen. Italics?
[edit]See Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Classical music#Italicization of various Medieval movements. Please discuss there, not here. --Francis Schonken (talk) 06:40, 31 August 2020 (UTC)
