Pictures
[edit]Some things I've noticed:
- Please removed attribution from articles and leave it on the image's page
- Name them something more descriptive than "WIKI XXXX.jpg"
- Please don't use all caps in names: there's no need for them
- Not all pictures have to reside in a <gallery>
- If you do use a gallery, please add captions after the pipe "|" (see User:Cburnett#Cameras for an example)
- Please use spaces instead of underscores in file names (they are auto-converted)
Please let me know if you have any questions! Cburnett 16:18, July 25, 2005 (UTC)

[edit]Hi I am going to move most of your images to Wikipedia Commons a resource for free content, hope this OK with you (it won't affect their usage in pages). Regards Arniep 21:01, 29 October 2005 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:WIKI CG LOGO.jpg)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:WIKI CG LOGO.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:33, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
Image source problem with Image:WIKI K MATTEA 0289.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:WIKI K MATTEA 0289.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 11:38, 28 May 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 11:38, 28 May 2008 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with File:WIKI CGSI 18.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:WIKI CGSI 18.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}}
(to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by STBotI. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 14:52, 31 March 2009 (UTC)

File copyright problem with File:Karen Olivo 1992 B.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:Karen Olivo 1992 B.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

License tagging for File:WIKI ACT1 Jim Stafford Ritz 2011 2.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:WIKI ACT1 Jim Stafford Ritz 2011 2.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click the "Edit" tab at the top of the page and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.
For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 20:05, 16 December 2011 (UTC)

Possibly unfree File:WIKI CG 04.jpg
[edit]A file that you uploaded or altered, File:WIKI CG 04.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Possibly unfree files because its copyright status is unclear or disputed. If the file's copyright status cannot be verified, it may be deleted. You may find more information on the file description page. Your Photos being deleted.
[edit]Regarding deletion of your photos. Considering your user name and editing history, and your claims, I think it is very likely that the photos you have uploaded were created by you. However, even if a photo is created and uploaded to Wikipedia by you, if you post/publish it somewhere else first, the copyright claim of the first place is what counts. Therefore it is simply not enough to claim own work on the wikipedia upload. The solution to this is to either amend the first publication site copyright status to fit with one that is applicable for wikipedia use, or to send confirmation of ownership through a specific means. See WP:IOWN for further details and ways to confirm ownership of images. Ravendrop 23:57, 23 October 2012 (UTC)
