Money

[edit]

Does anyone know how he made the money to buy Honda F1 and make them world champion? The article is silent on this issue.

I don't know for sure, but I would imagine he was fairly well paid during his (Championship-winning) years at Benetton and Ferrari. Plus I suspect Honda sold the team relatively cheaply, since it was costing them money to keep it going. DH85868993 (talk) 09:08, 23 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I'm a kind of insider of this. Honda was not being smart and they sold the entire team to him with only £1 so that he wouldn't have to pay extra tax. It effectively made him a billionaire in one day. Hope that's clear enough. Cheers. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 206.116.247.11 (talk) 16:59, 23 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

"Career"

[edit]

Much of the material in this section is not about Brawn at all, but about the team he worked with, or other matters; I was tempted to delete, but this is not an area where I have sufficient knowledge to make radical changes. But someone needs to! Heenan73 (talk) 13:24, 29 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Premature?

[edit]

Good morning,

Hosgeorges. I've been following this story, too. Your edit here seems a little premature, though. Would it be better to wait until rumours are confirmed or denied? See WP:SPECULATION. Regards, Tony Holkham (Talk) 09:47, 2 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hosgeorges, I have now undone this edit, as Brawn has denied the rumours anyway. Tony Holkham (Talk) 16:57, 2 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Contradictions

[edit]

The Early life and family and Career sections don't add up. On the one hand, we have one section which says that Brawn started his career with "Frank Williams Grand Prix", but it isn't clear when this was, or whether this means Frank Williams Racing Cars or Williams Grand Prix Engineering. It mentions it being in Reading, but the latter was always based in Didcot (if I remember rightly) but I don't recall if Patrick Head (who supposedly interviewed him) had any involvement in the former. On the other had, we have a section which says that he started with March Engineering in 1976 and moved to Williams in 1978. The former section has no sources, while the latter refers only to a piece with a local newspaper, so I don't know how reliable that is.

What actually happened, and is it backed up by reliable sources? (There also are no sources for his childhood, education, etc.) --RFBailey (talk) 22:28, 1 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
