Question
[edit]Is it teenage or teenaged??????
--JonMoore 06:55, 15 Sep 2003 (UTC)
It will go on
[edit]OK:
According to Fox News, 8 Simple Rules will go on. ABC is to air the final three John Ritter episodes, then go into reruns. It is rumored that the show will take on an ensambble feel with Katey Sagal at front and Henry Winkler stepping in as an uncle.
Does this have any place on the 8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter page??
--JonMoore 11:57, 17 Sep 2003 (UTC)
Fans who stuck with the show after John Ritter's death found the Freaky Friday episode to be absolutely clichéd, predictable, and full of cheap sexual humor.
Oh yeah, like it wasn't clichéd, predictable, and full of cheap sexual humor before Ritter's death.--Wasabe3543 21:12, 15 March 2006 (UTC)
Comment
[edit]According to the article the show has was officially cancelled by ABC on March 17 2005. Will the show ever return to the network or has it gone forever?
Haha, no, it's not gone forever, I doubt that it won't come, back. Although, it airs on the canada based Family Channel at 8:00 on weekdays, and also airs at 11:30 on weekdays, and on weekends it airs at 8:00. Ace Fighter 00:30, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
I'm not sure the link to Very Special Episode is entirely relevant, as they didn't chose to make an episode that dealt with the death they had to...Million_Moments 17:54, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
Family relations
[edit]I forget how is C.J. related to Bridget Kerry & Rory ? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.80.106.105 (talk) 00:55, 31 May 2008 (UTC)
- he's there cousin on there mom's side, Kate's sister is C.J.'s mom.--Boutitbenza 69 9 (talk) 20:50, 26 February 2011 (UTC)
Door mat?
[edit]Why is the article picture a door mat, seems pretty random to me :S —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.82.140.163 (talk) 14:29, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
- the doormat was the screen title for the opening, it was only for the first season as the show had a opening credit with a theme song, it was phased out in season 2 (don't know if they phased it out before or after John Ritter's death)--Boutitbenza 69 9 (talk) 20:52, 26 February 2011 (UTC)
Could someone explain this?
[edit]In the section on season 3 Jon Hein is quoted as saying that "the idea of 8 Simple Rules bringing in David Spade was like bringing in Scott Baio to play Chachi on Happy Days." As Baio did play Chachi, I have no idea what this quote is supposed to mean. It's unlikely he means Spade was the right choice, but if he means "was a completely ridiculous choice" the comparison with Chachi makes no sense. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.248.117.45 (talk) 21:08, 14 November 2009 (UTC)
- As mentioned here. Chachi Arcola, that character was added to attract an audience. Most likely to raise ratings and keep the show running since, essentially, 8 Simple Rules had died with it's main character. After all the show was based on the premise that a caring father enforces his rules about dating his daughter. After Ritter's Death the show was infused with bits of already appoved recepies (such as CJ & Grampa riffing on The Odd Couple) 84.164.203.59 (talk) 20:47, 25 October 2021 (UTC)

Syndication table
[edit]I boldly removed the syndication table from the article. I had several reasons. 1) It was as long as the rest of the article which is plainly absurd for what amounts to a lot of outdated trivia. 2) Only two entries had citations. 3) Much of it was for non-English broadcasts which goes against the TV project's guidelines here (which is technically for broadcast information but I would think syndicated showings are an obvious subset of that). I retained the two entries that had citations and added them to the lengthy prose section above that was all about American syndication (the two entries were for the UK so it was appropriate). The rules aren't the "premise"
[edit]As amusing as those "rules" may be, why are they the only content listed for the premise? Even if they inspired the show's title, is there nothing more to say about the show's actual content? Anything about the characters and story? Those rules aren't the premise. 76.94.59.40 (talk) 20:55, 20 October 2023 (UTC)
