This page looks like complete rubbish at first site. On closer inspection I expect it to be a transcript of a Japanese or Chinese joke. Unlikely to turn into article. Wrong language anyway -- MGM
I've since added an explanation to the beginning. It is not a transcript of a joke. If you look at some of my other contributions, you should see that I don't generally post foreign-language material that doesn't belong here.Node
Also please note: articles NOT in English should not be posted to VfD but rather Wikipedia:Articles needing translation into English (is that the correct link?).Node

- It's a Ryukyuan folksong. I'd translate it myself, but my Ryukyuan is a little rusty. There's similar stuff at Tinsagu nu Hana, and if this becomes fleshed out like that'n, I'd be borderline inclined to keep. I have no way of guessing how significant these songs are in Ryukyu. - Indeed. I haven't gotten around to translating it yet, but I will (I promise!) I know that Tinsagu nu Hana is a very significant folksong in the Ryukyus, though I'm not quite sure how popular Futami Jouwa is in comparison (though it is a well-known folksong)Node
- Comment: I left a request for information on the creator's talk page a few days ago, and they've made edits since then but have given no reply that I can see. Andrewa 05:15, 25 Apr 2004 (UTC)

- Keep, or move to a subsection of Okinawan songs. It's quite hard to find info on the Okinawan language online, and I for one think it's interesting. - Mustafaa 20:39, 27 Apr 2004 (UTC)

Correct page for articles needing translation
[edit]BTW, the correct page for articles needing translation is Wikipedia:Pages needing translation into English -- Jmabel 19:56, Jun 15, 2004 (UTC)
Still needs translation
[edit]This still needs side-by-side or verse-by-verse translation into English, as we do for national anthems. -- Jmabel 19:57, Jun 15, 2004 (UTC)
