Fair use rationale for Image:DealUKLogo.jpg
[edit]Image:DealUKLogo.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. BetacommandBot (talk) 20:33, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
4th person to reach 1000 appearances on television
[edit]"He became the 4th television personality to reach 1000 career appearances on the television, joining Terry Wogan, Mr Blobby and Richard Hammond which he said was the greatest moment in his career along with watching people win big on Deal or No Deal. "
I have difficulty believing this. What about all the newsreaders of the 50 and 60s who were on our screens every night?
How can Hammond possibly have made more appearances than Richard Baker?
Television career
[edit]Quote from 'Television Career' section in the article: "Noel now produces many more programmes and is amazingly generous." - What is that sentence doing there and supposed to mean?! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.135.77.1 (talk) 22:12, 30 December 2008 (UTC)
Residency?
[edit]There's somewhat of a firestorm around Noel's TV rant, which no doubt will find a mention here at some point once the dust has settled a bit - in the meantime, I've seen several claims by members of the public that he lives in France, having decided to take his children there so their tiny minds wouldn't be damaged by poor-quality British TV. Does anyone have any info on this? Dom Kaos (talk) 18:37, 13 February 2009 (UTC)
- I have mentioned the rant and the reviews in general of Noel's HQ - I did try to find if there were any favourable ones (not counting informal ones of any leaning) and more information would be welcome in time. As for where he lives, his anti-immigration interview with the NotW included that he lives in France, but didn't mention his children[1]. Billwilson5060 (talk) 12:27, 15 February 2009 (UTC)

Philanthropist
[edit]I see no source for this and nothing in the article to support, so per WP:BLP, I've removed it. Please feel free to replace it, with a reliable source. Rodhullandemu 22:46, 17 June 2009 (UTC)
NTV
[edit]- "Regular features included NTV, where cameras were secretly hidden in viewer's homes. It was later learnt that these were staged; [citation needed] the set-up's were revealed some years after the demise of the show, when Edmonds did a one-off reprise of the 'classic' for the BBC.[citation needed]. the set-up's were revealed some years after the demise of the show, when Edmonds did a one-off reprise of the 'classic' for the BBC.[citation needed]"
- Whilst this is true it was known much earlier than this - at the time when the show was still running. The satellite magazine WotSat mentioned a number of times that the live satellite feeds for this could be viewed and showed the whole process. : I had personally seen this several times back then. Was once via Orion 37.5 west satellite in PAL, encoded in sound-in-synce (SIS format). You'd see the crew prep the people on the sofa. They conducted trial runs in being shocked and surprised. And the cables ran across the floor in front of their feet. For the most part they just sat around bored waiting for the moment. --Revolt (talk) 10:02, 23 June 2009 (UTC)
- This is largely aprocryphal stuff. 90% of NTV sequences were well-planned, technically skilled events where the 'victims' were completely unaware of the hidden cameras. In the cases where the camera had been spotted or the situation had gone wrong in some way, it was then faked for the purposes of entertainment. It was not a 100% fake, and as such the articles should be revised to reflect that. Hardylane (talk) 16:34, 14 October 2009 (UTC)
Le Mans
[edit]I seem to remember Edmonds being involved with a team that entered Le Mans 24 hrs. I may be mistaken Tony Holkham (talk) 20:38, 16 March 2014 (UTC)
- No I wasn't mistaken - here it is [2] (British Film Institute website). I'll leave it to someone else to add if they think relevant Tony Holkham (talk) 20:42, 16 March 2014 (UTC)

Personal website
[edit]Is it responsible to link to this site, the front page of which is essentially a general attack on Lloyds Bank and a vicious personal attack on its CEO Antonio Horty Nosorio? Martinevans123 (talk) 11:09, 11 February 2018 (UTC)
Atlantic Award Group -- not really significant?
[edit]I did a Google search for "Atlantic Award Group" and there were only 350 hits (and many of them were about this article, or from mirror sites that use Wikipedia text). The award doesn't seem particularly significant. I suspect the award gets more publicity than it deserves with several lines of coverage in this article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 219.77.209.196 (talk) 10:50, 4 December 2018 (UTC)
- Tend to agree. Its website is here. Martinevans123 (talk) 14:20, 4 December 2018 (UTC)
Unique Group
[edit]Much of the section here talks about UBC_Media_Group which despite having unique in it's name, was founded by others and as far as I can tell has nothing to do with Edmonds unique group. That he was a non-executive director is perhaps interesting but doesn't make any sort of founding, or ownership connection to unique group itself. Surely if relevant this information should be in another section? --81.100.164.154 (talk) 13:14, 10 September 2023 (UTC)
- Edmonds has had murky business arrangements for decades. It's one of several reasons why he isn't generally well liked in Britain, despite his TV prominence. The article is fair enough overall though. --Ef80 (talk) 23:16, 30 April 2024 (UTC)
